DSL VOICE BUNDLE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS


Q) Is the DSL Bundle available at my location?

A) If you live inside the City limits of Monett or Nevada chances are that the service is available at your location. When you signup it will be verified and there is no charge to you if it's not available at your location.

Q) Can I keep my current phone number?

A) In most cases your current number can be ported to our service. There is a $10.00 one-time fee for porting a number.

Q) Are you just reselling SBC's services?

A) Absolutely not, Missouri Telecom, Inc. provides the DSL line and voice services from their own equipment. Depending on your location, Missouri Telecom may lease copper pairs from SBC to reach your location.

Q) I currently have DSL with Sofnet and would like to change to the Bundle, is that possible?

A) Yes and your term commitment will be extended by 1 year. Your current DSL router/modem will be replaced at no cost with an ADSL router/modem.

Q) I don't want to extend my current DSL commitment by 1 year to get the Bundle, how about that?

A) You can pay outright for the ADSL equipment at a one-time charge of 89.00. At the end of your current commitment you would either need to renew for another year or pay the then-current monthly rate.

Q) Can I talk on the phone and use the Internet at the same time?

A) Yes, you can access the Internet and talk on the phone at the same time.

Q) How long does it take to be installed?

A) If you currently have our DSL service it will take 1 to 3 business days depending on whether you are keeping your current telephone number. If you don't currently have DSL service it will take 5 business days regardless of whether you keep your current telephone number.

Q) How much does it cost?

A) Residential service is 49.95 per month + tax + any domestic long-distance calls at 5 cents per minute. Business service is 54.95 per month + tax + any domestic long-distance calls at 5 cents per minute. International calls are billed at a specific per-country rate. There is a 119.00 one-time setup for both business and residential that includes the ADSL router and professional on-site install, if necessary. If you already have our DSL service, there is no charge to add voice as long as you renew your 1 year commitment. Additional phone lines are 17.95/month with a 39.50 install for Residential and 19.95/month with a 52.25 install for Business.

Q) Do you have an unlimited long-distance calling plan?

A) We are considering an unlimited offering, however with our current service at 5 cents per minute it would only benefit a customer calling more than 6 1/2 hours per month.

Q) Is there a charge for having long-distance?

A) No, there is no monthly charge for having long-distance service, just a flat 5 cents per minute on calls that you make.

Q) Can I use long-distance carrier ?

A) We think our service offers the most value, but you can use any long-distance carrier you like for 1+ calls. It would be your responsibility to notify us of the carrier you wish to use and their PIC code as well as notify the carrier of your new local phone company. International calls must currently be carried by our service until a switch software upgrade in 4Q04.

Q) Will my phone work if the power is out?

A) Yes, your primary line will work for voice calls even if the power is out at your location. Your DSL connection would not work unless you have a UPS for it and your computer.

Q) How fast is the DSL?

A) The high-speed Internet will be delivered via Rate Adaptive ADSL with a speed of 384kb-1.5mb down/256kb up. Actual speed will depend on distance and loop coniditions, with a minimum of 384kb down.
